Let’s jump straight into the presentation. So to help you pass your job interview, I will cover the following three things during this tutorial.

- Number two, I will tell you the different ways you can contribute to a company that are guaranteed to impress the hiring manager.

Number one
So to begin with, why is the interviewer asking you the question, What can you contribute to the company? Now they are asking you this question because hiring someone in a role costs money each month in terms of the salary. Now there is no point hiring someone which is essentially an investment if that person cannot contribute to the company positively. Therefore, in your answer, you need to explain how you are going to add value to their business in your role, and I strongly recommend you use those words. Add value in your answer.
Number two
Let me now tell you 10 different ways you can contribute positively to a company, and I will then give you those several scripted answers to help you pass.
- Number one is to say you will contribute by providing outstanding customer service. Now, if you are good with people and you have the experience to be able to provide exceptional customer service, this means you are going to help the company increase sales through repeat customer.
- Number two is to say that you will contribute by streamlining systems and company processes. Now, this one is particularly good for those people applying for office or administrative positions. Now, if you are a highly organized person and you can streamline processes and create systems, it allows the business to be more efficient by saving time and money.
- Number three is to say that you will contribute by bringing an innovative approach to working now. Being innovative means you will find ways to help the business meet the needs of its customers and clients. If you are innovative, you are forward thinking you think outside the box and you seek ways to give the company a competitive advantage.
- Number four is to say that you will contribute by being creative and inventive. Now, employees who create and invent things are the backbone of a successful business because without them, the company would not be able to provide the right products and services to keep growing. Now, if you have examples of where you have ever been creative or where you have invented something in a previous role. Make sure you mention these in your answer.
- Number five is to say that you will contribute by generating sales. Now, the vast majority of businesses are focused on sales and revenue. Now, if you are a good salesperson, this is undoubtedly going to be attractive to the company you are applying to work for. Again, if you have any examples of where you have helped a team or company boost sales, make reference to these in your answer.
- Number six is to say that you will contribute by increasing profits. This is a good one. Now, whilst the majority of companies focus solely on growing sales, smart organizations keep an eye on the profits too. Now, if you are a frugal worker, someone who is resourceful and doesn’t waste money. This can be a fantastic asset to a company. There are different ways to help a company save money. Include streamlining ordering processes and also helping to create a culture that frowns upon waste.
- Number seven is to say that you will contribute by being a troubleshooter. Now, this is perfect for those people applying for technical roles. If you can solve difficult problems that hold the company back and your depth of knowledge is clearly going to be an asset to their company. Make sure you mention these in your answer.
- Number eight is to say that you will contribute by helping their company improve their online image. And marketing, this is a really good one, so if you are the type of person who has experience online, especially with how social media works, you could be an invaluable asset to their company. So for example, if you are active on social media or if you have undertaken any training courses in online marketing, make sure you mention these in your answer. Now, most companies are not very good at promoting themselves online, so if you can help them to do that, you could be a great asset to their team.
- Number nine is to say that you will contribute by being a quick learner and a fast worker. Now, fast workers are invaluable to a company because they tend to get twice as much done as everybody else. So if you are quick to learn things, you retain information easily and you work at a pace, the hiring manager is going to find these things appealing. So if you can explain in your answer that your speed of working effectively means they will get to people for the price of one. That’s going to be a great thing for their company.
- And number 10 before I give you those examples, scripted answers is to say that you will contribute by being a leader and someone who takes ownership of difficult challenges. This is a really good one. Now, most people don’t take ownership of difficult challenges. They tend to sit back, observe and let other people take the lead. However, if you are someone who is willing to step up, take control and deal with issues and problems that help the company move forward, you could be the perfect fit for their organization.

Answer option number two
- I can contribute to the company by using an innovative and creative approach to my work.
- Your company operates in a very competitive market, and I believe my skills and knowledge will help you to find ways to beat the competition. For example, in my last role, I helped the company increase sales by streamlining the online customer ordering process. I felt the company website was not easy to use, so I drew up a list of recommended changes, and after these were implemented, sales grew significantly.
- Finally, I will contribute by always being a positive role model for your company and by ensuring I am professional, respectful and forward thinking in my actions.
Answer option number three
- I can contribute to the company in a variety of different ways. Outside of work, I am quite active on social media and I can help your company grow its online presence, which will attract more customers and sales.
- Secondly, I can contribute by helping to streamline company processes and systems. In my last role, my manager often praised me for finding ways to make the business more efficient and frugal.
- Finally, I will contribute to the company by being a proactive and supportive team worker, by always putting the needs of the company first and by being available to work additional hours as and when needed.
